people that dress their pets...yea or nay?

I admit...when I got my Chihuahua, I was all about the tiny doggie clothes. But, turned out, I liked buying them much more than he enjoyed wearing them! He's totally a man's man kinda dog. So it has been a long time since I put anything on him other than his winter jacket. Even that, I only do when we are up North and out for longer periods in the cold.

We did take first place in a Petco fashion show once!

It's... unsettling.

I think they can look cute as long as it isn't too foo-foo'y.

And I've always wondered what other dogs "think" when they see a fellow canine dressed like their non-canine masters. Do they think an equivalent to 'WTF?' like we do when we see some kid with his pants below his butt?

A warm sweater in cold weather is considerate, though.

My dog has a camouflage hoodie that's only for when it's the dead of winter and he has to go outside. When he was a puppy I had a box full of costumes we'd put him in, a wedding dress, feather boa, high heels we tied to his feet, a big pink sunhat, a hula skirt, he was a good sport about it then. My sister has a rat terrier that she had a letterman jacket for and a polo shirt for, but he ate them.

Overall I find it a bit tacky if it's not just to keep them warm.

Not my idea of a good time.

I guess. I don't have any so I don't care.

I've done the sweater thing but had friends who had an entire wardrobe including raincoats, hats, boots & even a Santa suit. Never went that far.

I think there are better things to spend my money on, but one year shortly after I'd gotten married, we got sick of people asking us when we were going to have a baby, so we dressed up the cats for our Christmas card in response to all the inquiries:



I was making doll clothes that year for a donation to a cause I can't remember anymore, so I made a couple of "extra" outfits. . . .LOL. I kept the outfits for memories, though those two cats are long gone now, but there's no way I'd put them on my present two cats--they'd claw me to death!

I think its a bit silly seeing fifi with little bows and a jacket and little boots and a diamond tiara.

Nay. I don't think it's ever necessary or even that cute. Pets don't wear clothes.

Nah....and from what I can tell, pets don't like it that much either. They know they're being made into a clown for humans entertainment.

Nay, even if I did have pets, I wouldn't.
