Once the "child" under 18 HAS the baby, they become an emancipated minor technically in most cases. At 16, they are eligible for medicaid, welfare, and then the Pell Grant to go to school because now they have the baby they are considered "independent" from their parents.
At 16, WITH a child, they have the right to sign contracts signing away the baby to adoption agencies, their parents, etc. By having sex they already made a life altering decision. Now YES--- they should have to live with the consequences of making the decision of whether to have it or not, and any complications that may come with the procedure. Some parents just throw their kids out of the house if pregnant---seen it done. So how could a "child" go to a "loving" parent with this topic?
