If you have noticed someone's weight gain, would you tell them or keep it to yourself? If anyone has ever pointed it out to you that you have put on pounds, were you annoyed?

Well, your partner might want to clue you if they are bothered by it. I put on weight without noticing at about 45 when the metabolism suddenly shifts without a heads-up that you can't eat all that fat food you did as a young person. I noticed it in fotos - my wife never told me that my gut was getting soft.
Other than that, I don't think it is up to ppl to tell someone they are getting fat.

If they ask, I'll tell them what I think; but I won't take a look at someone I haven't seen in 5 years and have the first words out of my mouth be about their noticeable weight gain. That's rude.

I would keep it to myself.
Yes there were times when someones noticed I've put on weight, I wasn't annoyed cuz it was a good thing.

This reminded me. Back in the '80s working with ppl who had AIDS wasting, I noticed that it was socially acceptable to tell women they were putting on weight. It was a good thing.cheaps wrote:...

I think Supernova makes a good point that if they've gained enough weight for me to notice, they already know it too. I think I would only say something if I noticed that they've lost weight. Such as, "Have you lost weight?"

No, I never anything. They know how their clothes are fitting even if they aren't noticing the gain when they look in the mirror.
