I just tried to get through Candy Spelling's bio. Couldn't do it, had to take it back to the library.

Let's see...I'm currently reading The Incredible Journey, and Carnivores...and yesterday I finished reading Undercover Cat and the Shaggy D.A. I'm also reading stories out of Ray Bradbury's October Country.

I'm reading good reviews about The Sea of Monsters. I might pick that one up the next time I head out to Borders.

John Grisham's THE ASSOCIATE. A movie is coming for it so I wanted to read the book before it came out.

I am reading the 4th volume in this series, set back in the 1600's during the buccaneer days a lot of it takes place on the Island of Jamaica. Fascinating Historical series!

Re: What book are you reading right now?
I just finished a book by a Canadian politician who many years ago murdered his ex-wife over child custody issues. I had read a book back then about the murder, so when his book came out I asked for it for Xmas along with about 6 other books. I still think he did it . I am now reading a book written by a local BC author about his life being raised by his grandmother from the age of 2 when his parents both died of TB. He grew up in England, then immigrated to Canada and then to BC. That one of course interests me because I too was raised by a beloved grandmother.

Very good book! He's written about a dozen books, all very good in my opinion. I just finished reading THE CLIENT and really enjoyed it.
I've just tied into THE FALL OF GIANTS by Ken Follet. This is going to take a while, it's 983 pages long which will tax my poor old worn out eyes!

I'm waiting for Eric Jerome Dickey's new novel to come out. Although I wasn't too impressed with his last book. His writing is totally addictive.

Has anyone ever heard of the Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey? They are in the Fantasy section of the bookstores. They are buried treasures. I have read the first trilogy and am going to start the second soon.
Anyone ready James Ellroy? I haven't but he is an interesting guy.

Kushiel's Scion by Jacqueline Carey. Loving it.
The Kushiel's Legacy series is not just a book you read, it is a place you go to. My husband says the Ring books are feel like that too.

"The Seventh Secret" by Irving Wallace. It's about a couple of historians who come across hidden evidence that Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun didn't commit suicide to escape capture and prosecution near the end of WWII, but instead escaped and could be still alive.

Re: What book are you reading right now?
Body Count. I don't remember the name of the author, it's from a series of priest-solving-murder stories. This priest takes the confession of a hitman who murdered a priest in another church, and a third priest heard and saw the confession. There's a debate between the old and young clergymen on the sacredness of the seal of confession, but then another priest gets murdered.
