The things you find for a bargain

It's always interesting what you can find at a sale or in a thrift store for a quarter and to try and find a duplicate online could cost a small fortune.

One thing I found at the book sale last week was a teeny little...what they call Micro Mags, called More Uncanny Cat Stories, 89 cents on the cover, this came out about 16 years ago, I paid 50 cents for it, tried seeing if it was on Amazon, one copy $35, holy crap


You ever unknowingly find a good bargain like that?

Well, I kinda-sorta' had that happen lately but it was weird. I was in search of a very hard-to-find book that is out of print. Ended up paying $20 ABOVE the old listed price, BUT. . . I saw prices up past a thousand bucks for the damn thing! So I feel lucky to pay "only" $60 for it.

I know the feeling, like I was kind of mad I had to pay $40 to get a little paperback pocket book of Gabriel Over the White House, but compared to other prices of $300 or $700, 40 isn't so bad.

Hhhmm, nothing comes to mind.

I tend to have a hard time finding good things for cheap. Other people, I hear, say how they got this and that for a bargain, but I'm usually not that lucky.

I find good deals every now and then. I don't go to flea markets or garage sales though. Perhaps I should.

Now on the other side of the spectrum, the should've grabbed it when I had the chance...last year at a book sale there was a box full of a collection of books covering the Vietnam war, $1 a book it would've been $25, I had already spent $100 at the sale and didn't want to spend that much more money...but NOW I find out this set is going to cost $130 to buy as a set, and pretty much the same price if I get it one volume at a time. *sigh*
