    Mozart's Sister (2011) Empty Mozart's Sister (2011)

How many are aware that Wolfgang had a sister, who may have been as talented, or more so.

We follow the Mozart family circa 1760 traveling Europe to perform before Royalty. We learn about 10 year-old Wolfgang, his 15 year-old sister Maria Anna (Nannerl), and their ambitious dominate father Leopold.

While the film is about befriending members of the family of Louise XV, it's mostly about gender class. Marie Anna is a extremely talented violinist, harpsichordist, composer and vocalist, is denied the opportunity because she is a woman.

The film has it's classy period dress and settings. But it is way too slow, with average acting. The reason may be....the director has his two daughters playing the lead female parts.

It's an fascinating idea, but it also leaves you with a question. How factual is this biopic. Considering that Marie Anna died 40 years after Wolfgang, with out an ounce of her music surviving, including dying poor and lonely.
