    I've had to evacuate many times but there was never a fire. Well, come to think of it there was a toaster catching fire once but didn't turn into anything "big". There was a gas leak once. And at least twice were children that pulled on the alarm.

    The duplex we live in was on fire so we had to evacuate our side. The fire wasn't so bad that the building was destroyed, just extensive damage to the kitchen.

    Technically yes, similar to Red. A unit a few doors down from us was ablaze so we had to get out. We were able to return after it was out. Not even smoky by us knock on wood.

    Same with us regarding smoke damage. I could not believe we did not have smoke damage. The house smelled just like the chicken in the crock pot when we had to leave.

    But my computer was fried because I did not unplug the cords and I think when the electric company turned the power back on, it was fried.
