Building your own home Empty Building your own home

Post by Tony Marino Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:19 pm

If I had the money I would build my own home. I would like it to be as airy as possible, have court yards, open areas, swimming pool and I would love an underground river, the idea being that there would be parts of the floor that have glass tubes in place and water runs through them.

Like I say it will never happen, but it is nice to dream.

But what about you? Do you like the idea or building your own home? Have you done it? Is there anything fancy you would need to have in your home?

Tony, I think you would have been right at home as a senator in 100 AD Rome. With all that running water, you should make sure there are lots of bathrooms handy Wink

Among other things, I'd want a formal dining room with plenty of room for at least a dozen people and a professional grade kitchen. Wrap around front porch too. Large deck in the back with a built in BBQ.

I would love to build my own house. I know I want floor to ceiling windows in some rooms too.

In a dream world, I would so build my own home. But in reality, if I bought a home, I would rather get something close to perfect and remodel. I have talked to too many who built only to live in it for a while and drive themselves nuts second guessing the choices.
