Aside from sex and violence for in the more adult cartoons, is there anything else commonly found in cartoons that you would find inappropriate for kids to watch?

Language, I think. That's it for what is age inappropriate for them anyway, but then you go into the other area of insulting to kids' intelligence, and that will cover most cartoons made today.

One of my favorite childhood cartoons "Mighty Mouse" would be considered ~ GASP! ~ violent today, although the language couldn't be more appropriate.!

It's all so stupid, assinine, and mindless.

I have one Mighty Mouse cartoon on a collection, I don't recall it being particularly violent:

I guess if it causes your underage kid to ask you to explain something that you're uncomfortable answering. Family Guy isn't particularly violent and they don't actually say "those" words on TV (that's for the DVDs big grin ) but I might not want to have to explain what Quagmire (Giggitty!) is up to to a 6 year old.

    That's true too.

Some cartoons have a lot of cynical and smart-mouth language, even the more child geared ones. I guess I can see how a parent would object to some of them.
