Your parents siblings

How similar/different are your parents (in looks and personality) to their siblings? Do you have any aunts/uncles who are the polar opposite of your parents?

Oddly enough I never met my aunts and uncles (not even my grandparents . . . they were all in Europe). Judging by photos, Mom bore a little resemblance to her brother but not strongly. My dad and his sisters, none resembled each other all that strongly, either, though they all had strong dark features. The sisters were all "big women" while my dad was tall and very slim.

For the most part, all my aunts and uncles has their own distinct personalities/looks.

For the most part there's a similar look, especially on my dad's side. Many of my cousins can be mistaken for my brothers or sisters. Personalities run the gamut, but I've noticed a few mildly bipolar folks lol. One aunt has it worse than everyone else--I had to listen to her talk today and I was exhausted after 30 minutes, with all the hysterical laughter/"I'm about to cry" changes. I try to avoid her and her crazy offspring as MUCH as possible!

My mother and my father are like night and day compared to their siblings. My father looks like the people on his side of the family, my mother doesn't really look like the rest of her siblings. Some of them have different fathers and since I don't know who my mother's father is, I can't compare her looks to anybody on his side.

I haven't seen my father's sister or my mother's brother for years and I'd like to keep it that way. I guess you could tell they were related.

There is a definite family resemblance in all of them just like there is with my siblings.

On my dads side facially he and his brothers look close enough, but body size is all over the place. Their personalities are all over the place. My father is conservative and quiet but one of my uncles thinks he's a playboy. The other is more laid back. On my mothers side, its pretty much the same thing...except for one aunt that looks nothing like my mom and their other sister.
