Have you ever formally reported a workplace grievance you had? If so, was the issue ever resolved?

I made a grievance against our CEO because he has been hostile to me since he came to the agency and gave me a 25% pay cut. I logged it with HR and it is supposed to be presented to the Board of Directors, but we had a talk (first time in 5 years that weasel met face-to-face with me. I think he's afraid I will have a violent "take this job and shove it moment.")

Anyhow, even with the pay cut I am making much more than minimum wages and I HAVE A JOB, in this economy where so many do not. So I am sucking it up and not pursuing the grievance. Our BOD are a bunch of volunteers who would rather not get involved in the nasty business of resolving a grievance.

I tend to quit when it gets bad enough for all that.

Not officially, though I have made verbal complaints and butt heads with my boss on a few occasions (she has with all the staff who report to her). This has been going on for 13 years. But I wasn't going to chuck and well-paying job with good benefits because of her. So I'm still there and so is she. But she has mellowed out a great deal.

That has been my lifelong job history when I was younger and the economy more vibrant. But that is not an option at my age and even young ppl are now unemployed in great numbers. I doubt I could find any job, much less one paying $13 an hour. (I was making $17 before the forced paycut)

Hence, trying to rectify a bad situation and keep my job, which I partly loathe because I cannot just take it and shove it like I did in the past.

Yes, and not really. We do it just so it's documented on paper, but everyone knows the same person will be doing the same shit 5 years later.
