Do you agree with children of non US residents automatically being legal citizens because they were born in the US? Do you think that having a baby in the US should automatically make the child's parents legal citizens as well?

Re: Born in the USA = legal citizen
I think the children should have automatic dual citizenship to both countries in question--the one they were born in, as well as the one their parents are from. The parents aren't entitled to citizenship just because their kid was born in a country they weren't/don't belong to.
It would be the same as if an American family were over in France, or Sudan, Russia--wherever-- and never were naturalized as part of that country and decided to have a baby. The baby should be entitled to citizenship, but it doesn't make the parents automatic members until they go through the proper channels.

Re: Born in the USA = legal citizen
A child is born in the US, I think it should have American citizenship, but no I don't think it should work in favor the parents being granted citizen. Instead I think that the child should be able to live with American guardians, or be able to migrate upon the states upon his or her reaching legal status.
