In philadelphia we have a 100yr old "mummer's parade" on New Years day. It is often a tradition throughout families. Do you have a local annual parade, and do you participate in it?

Only the one in fall, and I go to see it every year and then stick around for a couple hours for the fall festival, check out the food, games, cake spin, etc.

Yea there are a few parades I believe, but no never participated in any of them.

I havent been to a parade since I was a kid. Never understand why they have those in the dead of winter. The only time I would consider going is in warm weather.

My wife and I would LOVE to start a tradition of going to Philadelphia for the Mummers Parade. That would be so cool.

We have the Portland Rose Parade, which is very nice. But I've attended it only once and that was in the early 90's. The Rose Festival is admittedly not one of my favorite events here.
Mummer's looks like a kick. I've watched an abbreviated version on TV before, though it wasn't aired at all last year. Hope it is this year.
