have you ever gone to couples therapy? Did it help?

My sister was with her husband since she was 17. They married when she turned 30. At 37 they were having problems and the therapist told them, "get divorced and move back in with each other. You belong together, you just cant live together within the confines of marriage". They divorced and remained together until she died at 47.

I personally think they were nuts... but that is just me. lol

Obviously a very savvy, if unconventional, counselor.

My first husband and I had 1 meeting with two separate counselors, and oddly enough, neither of them saw hope. In fact, one of them told my husband that counseling is not only to try and preserve a marriage but to also make the transition of divorce easier. I had no interest in working things out and it was obvious to them.

But I've known of counseling helping other couples.

I have often thought the "old man" and I would do well with some therapy. Just as soon as we finally got our shit straight, we had a new set of issues. I just know he won't be responsive to it and it is expensive. So we will see how it all works out. We have given ourselves till June to "self-correct"....

Uh...no.

So far it hasn't been needed. Hope it stays that way.
