Does the 'perfect' family with the breadwinner father, stay-at-home mother, two and a half kids, white picket fence, wholesome conservative morale, etc., etc. still exist today, or has it ever? Do you personally know any examples of this?

If that defines perfect, we came pretty close but we didn't have the fence.

Re: Does the 'perfect family' exist?
My sister and her hubby have been together for 35 years---since she was 15. She is a stay at home mom, and he has owned businesses for most of that time. They have 3 kids and a beautiful home. However, the economy really screwed with their lives. The businesses closed, and he is now working for someone else making a lot less money and working 5 times harder. They had their share of problems, but always work thru it.
Their relationship works, and I have always felt the pressure to find a relationship like theirs. Unfortunately, I cant. But because of their example, I have hope for my future relationships.

Re: Does the 'perfect family' exist?
I don't know about today. Only one household in my neighborhood fits that description, and I highly doubt they are "perfect".
I grew up in a place fitting that description, right down to the white picket fence, and it was radically far from perfect.
Something I've noticed, though, are more female co-workers choosing to chuck their decent-paying jobs to raising their children once they have two. That's because the cost of child-care is not worth it.

Re: Does the 'perfect family' exist?
I don't think there is such a thing as the perfect family. Some people with shitty lives may look at others living better and think it is perfect but the grass is always greener and everyone has skeletons in the closet. And the "perfect" people grow so accustomed to always coming out smelling like a rose that simple glitches send them over the edge, meaning they are not perfect just have a different view of what hardships truly are.
