Oscar Nominations Empty Re: Oscar Nominations

I've been talking for months about "the Artist" and "The Descendants", so I'm happy to see they are among the top winners. I'm not particularly overjoyed with "The Help" and "War Horse"

There are several films (and actors parts too) I would pick as "The Worst of the Best":

    Iron Lady
    Albert Nobbs
    Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

It appears the Academy stayed away from films that were very depressing and hard to watch, such as:

    Shame
We Need to Talk About Kevin
    MMMM
The acting in these 3 films were exceptional

I sure there will lots of negative echo's about "The Tree of Life". I recommend that this film be seen several times. There is a message, besides being beautiful.

Other than the first 5 categories, who cares about the rest.

Well, I care. And I would assume the film makers care. But more importantly, the make up of a film requires many parts. Poor editing can destroy a film. Cinematography, music score, sound, art direction are essential.

A film is the foundation of its entirety.
