Best motion picture, drama: Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The King's Speech, The Social Network
Best motion picture, comedy or musical: Alice in Wonderland, Burlesque, The Kids Are Alright, Red, The Tourist
Never much cared for the method of splitting Best Picture. The comedy/musical are laughable, with the exception of the terrific "The Kids Are Alright" You will never see the other 4 showing up on the Oscar list. That said, the 5 Drama films are all worthy.
Personally, "The Kings Speech" is my pick in most categories. However, it doesn't have a lead actress, so there I would pick Annette Benning over Natalie Portman, but only slightly.
Let's go to the movies. It took almost 11 months but we finally had some really good drama films.
