I think so, for the most part. I think current civilization will cease not that far down the road.

Every living thing evolves as necessary. If our current habitat remains constant then there is no need to evolve further than what we are. Also, as a tool making creature we have adapted to places beyond our natural survival, so that influences any natural evolutionary changes.
I could see mutations in ability that might surpass what we are now - and if those with mutations that made them more capable than our present form were exclusionary, then they could off the less evolved.

I agree. Living creatures physically evolve by natural necessity over a span of thousands of years, but I don't imagine that human being as a species will still exist that far into future to where another evolutionary metamorphosis will take place. Physically, we have largely peaked.
