We were told 200,000 new jobs were created in January. Are you convinced that the economy is on a steady upswing?

Are you yet convinced of an economic recovery?

Why would I be convinced? Gas prices aren't doing better. The jobs numbers are notoriously easy to fudge. People leave the workforce. They give up trying. They have ways to artificially "lower" the number. So no, I am not convinced that the economy is doing better. And those that are will be the very reasons why it gets worse.

My daughter a school teacher was laid off two years ago and has been unable to find another job in any field. S. Florida I think leads in unemployment, worse here than the rest of the US. So, haven't seen any real recovery here.
Our state and federal government are cutting back on services and letting employees go, then bragging about saving money, while all those unemployed workers just add to the problem of defaulted mortgages, and businesses failing because they have no customers, which also adds to more unemployed ppl.
IDK why they haven't taken more drastic measures like TAXING RICH PPL.

It's a LITTLE better, but its far from a steady upswing. We are not replacing jobs fast enough and really, its going to take a while to do so.

I think what appears to be a recovery is just a fluke. Lots of people have expired their unemployment benefits, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I still see and hear of more businesses continuing to fold.
It bothered me to hear on the news this morning that, with car sales going up, so are the prices. Now HOW does making automobiles, of which costs have already been into the stratosphere, even more expensive going to help our economy??????? And this goes for the "green" cars as well.
