    Besides sex/dating/hookup sites, etc., have you ever met up with anyone in person who you first became acquainted with over Internet? If you have, where (online) did you meet them?

    One person, who lives about 1 and a half hours from here. We my husband and I met here as he and his wife were doing some volunteer work at the local college. They were very nice but normally I wouldn't dream of meeting anyone from the internet.

    I have actually hooked up with a couple of young men I only knew online. One was the tech guy at a now defunct forum board. I happened to be travelling thru his part of the country and he suggested we meet. We met at my hotel. Wink

    Then a guy who was taking a cruise out of Miami had a layover and suggested we meet up. Coincidentally the hotel he had on Miami Beach for the night was within walking distance of my apt. We spent the day and evening together. big grin

    Tomorrow, I'm supposed to meet up with a guy who approached me on flickr. I have some revealing fotos there and he was impressed. So, he's in town for the day and we should spend some time together.

    I just met with a group of folks from Move On to do some social organizing. I am also talking over the phone with people organizing the local March against the March Against the War on Women to take place in RALEIGH as well as around the country on April 28, 2012.

    WAY WAY back in the day... we used to have local BBS boards... and we would get about 50 - 100 people show up for bbq's, football, tennis, etc at the local park--- was a lot of fun. MOST of us were in our early 20s... but there were a few in their 30s who owned businesses and sort of mentored us, and we all had a great time.... one time we rented the whole bowling alley.

    Well, I just met someone for the first time yesterday. He contacted me from flickr - said my feet were nice. We sent a few e-mails over the past week and hooked up last night.

    He likes old guys and was very appreciative of me and my gorgeous feet. It was a fun evening and he is into picture taking. This is the only one I can post here. Oh, yeah he is closer to my age but still 12 years younger.

    Do you believe in Providence, being in the right place or time for things to come together?

    I have had good fortune in meeting ppl from the Internet IRL, almost providential.

    The young man I knew on MySpace who contacted me that his cruise would bring him to Miami for one day and wanted to meet up ended up at a cheap hotel on the north end of Miami Beach within walking distance of my apartment. This area is not the main tourist hotel area on the Beach. So, we spent the day together in his hotel room and my room. Blue Cool

    The guy who contacted me last week to meet up was in South Florida on business and the only day we could meet up was Friday - my normal day off.

    Now a young man has contacted me thru flickr saying he has admired me, my fotos and comments on that site, another gay male site and my own personal Shale site. He will be in Miami next week and wants to meet up. Here is the problem - he is only in town from Monday thru Thursday - my normal work days. However, last week I had already taken Tuesday off (Mayday) so we are now able to meet up for breakfast or brunch that day.

    What are the odds of that?

    I was part of an online mom's social meet up group and met one friend through that and we became very good friends. I also met my ex-work out buddy via Craigs List. We are "exes" because she went to a cheaper gym after not wanting to go to the Y anymore. Truth be told, I do miss her. We were absolutely different in every way but she was interesting.

    I met with someone via Craigs List looking for a scrapbooking buddy but she was a nightmare and it was terrible.

    There is a lady who lives in Chicago I have known for about six years through a small forum and one day we will meet. It has never worked out that she is free when I get to Chicago.
