If you've seen this movie, what did you think of it?

I thought it was alright but I prefer the series, though I loved it in the movie when Sutherland's Hawkeye CLOCKED Frank.

Did you see the movie after you had been immersed in the TV series? If so, I'm not surprised. I remember thinking what a shitty idea it was to make the TV show although I came to like it.

I enjoyed the movie in theater in the '70s then later got into the TV series. The movie was not trying for all the happy ending stuff that they did on TV each week. It also gave more of a period sense of the early '50s.

Yeah. But you know, something I've noticed, over the years, turning movies into TV shows worked, but taking a TV show and turning it into a movie, no, that road does NOT travel both ways.

That's not always true by a long shot. Addams Family, The Brady Bunch, The Fugitive, Wayne's World, Mission Impossible, The Untouchables. To name a few. Duh, and Dark Shadows.
