    Health scare? Accident? Encounter with a cop or criminal? That midnight walk throught the cemetary on the anniversary of your town's famous axe murders? Missed period? Anything ever made your life flash before your eyes?

    Driving thru South Carolina in a VW bug with my wife (interracial) and have a pickup truck of redneck good-ol-boys toying with us, slowing down to make us pass them, then speeding past us and doing it again.

    An interracial couple was followed home by such troglodytes, (common in South Carolina, which also is against same-sex marriage) and killed in front of their house.

    It is frightening to be targeted and helpless in such a situation. I pulled into a well-lit service plaza and they followed us but left.
