This is one of the things I love about this place. Chris is just fantastic. There's no admin/mod/special member "gang" where certain people get a pass & others don't on the exact same thing. It's fair & for the most part friendly & civil. We're all different with different life experiences that affect our opinions & don't agree on everything but for the most part we manage to disagree without becoming too jerky & immature. So yeah...I agree

I was moderator on a site where the Admin. was a tyrant and a trouble maker. He scolded everyone and got in everyone's business and was overall just a rotten person. I left the site because of this.

I have been given admonishments over on the CD board--quite frequently...

i guess some admins are in it for the power? its their realm and castle, so they control all their domain--- that is just crazy.

i couldnt deal with someone like that. i was go on boards for military gf/wives... and some of them were just plain nasty.... i have left some boards because of it. A bunch of emotionally distraught women who are sexually frustrated can get really crazy! lol

I think that's a lot of it W2L. It makes them feel "important". They like playing big boss man (or big boss bitch) The restrictions at some places are almost impossible for the average human. But I'm not going to walk a fine line with a long list of restrictions. It's suffocating. People have to be allowed to be people.

I have had others read what I posted and none of them thought it was bad. The odd thing is that she waited three days before giving me my two infractions and it was three days or more after I had posted anything on this guy's threads.

I think she just got in a pissy mood and decided to off someone's head. I guess it's true: "absolute power corrupts absolutely."

It's ironic, I was once asked to be a mod on that board and turned them down. I just didn't care for the way things were handled there. I am glad I turned them down, my conscience is happy too.

I probably will stick around there though, there are some really nice people that post on the various forums I subscribe and I like to see what they have to say about the different topics.

I have! On Soap Opera Central. I hate them over there, plus One Life to Live is off the air. No reason to post there anymore. I've also been scolded on Soap Opera Network for arguing with someone who started the whole thing. I still post there. There are some cool peeps, like here!

i go on the Y&R board in imdb...(which is actually how i got invited here!! THANK GOD). i just cant understand how some people get sooooo upset over a freakin soap!! So i can only imagine the types of fighting that goes on those boards! I mean seriously... someone on Y&R made a thread about how the characters were sleeping around and she hated the immorality of it all... and the fact that others called the characters sluts/whores. THAT is what makes a soap--- the taboo, the naughtiness, the controversy ... if everyone was good and normal we wouldnt watch---

but some people can handle the fact that a TV show is JUST a tv show --- or that movies/books are fake. Even on these boards... if u dont like what i say.. jump over my post or put me on ignore (not that i want you to, cause i have no problem having someone tell me in a respectful way how they feel).

It makes me laugh that although we have heated discussion on topics such as religion, sex, even speedos (yeah that one struck a chord LOL) we rarely come to blows-- we can respect each other. OTHER boards, especially soap boards... act like the world is coming to an end if i say that victor newman is a jerk! GO figure! LOL

The imdb boards are so very...special. I have to click ignore on a regular basis or one day when my hormones aren't having it I'm gonna break my own record for saying every variation of the word FUCK & maybe inventing a few. It's a very unique place that's for sure. I've never seen a board where people take it personally if you like or dislike a fucking fictional character or even dumber freak out about the "romantic pairing". It borders on psychotic lmao They literally go into meltdown.

u r soooo right!!! and even weirder, there are "posters" who are more or less trolls... then claim that they "died" and now someone else is posting under the same account to inform all his/her "friends" of the passing! lol i swear to god this happened.

"i would like to announce to all of my son's friends of his recent passing. i know u all meant so much to him, his heart was just tooo weak for this world" LOL this was like 3hrs after his last post! like someone is going to die, and within 3 hrs after dealing with the hospital, police, coroner, family etc... u post on his behalf??? as if THAT was important!! LOL

I know!! That's why I used to get sanctioned on SOC. People would say the stupidest things or as you said. "act like the world is coming to an end" if you disagree about a character. I would reply with something sarcastic or funny then I would wind up getting banned for a month or so. I don't know why people take that stuff so personally.
