No way would I anymore. It worked for the man who hit me. He threatened me and it worked. For too long. I wouldn't care what he threatened me with anymore if it happened with another man.

Depends on the situation. I'm inclined to say no, but everyone is liable to snap at some point. I won't be a glutton for abuse though. If I do give you another chance, after the first time....then it becomes a pattern. Then its over.

Never. The ability to do that once, means the ability to do it again. I spent my early childhood, living in fear of my mother's first husband (not my biological father--that's a whole other story), who was physically and mentally abusive. I can still hear the sound of his fists hitting my mother during a fight they were having while I was upstairs hiding under my bed with the dog.
I've always vowed to never let a man treat me like that, and if I were ever in that position, all it would take is one hit and I'd be gone immediately on the spot, no questions asked, no forgiveness, no additional "chances."

This question shouldn't be just for women. Even tho most abusive partners are male there are men who live with men.
Jim, my crazy partner for 5 years was prone to outbursts and once he pushed me. No hit, but I told him even that was not acceptable and he would NEVER do it again. He didn't.
Of course a heavy diner cup exploded on the wall once and a few other inanimate things got hit, but not me.

nope... never had a man hit me. I THOUGHT my ex husband was about to hit me in an argument and i told him "do it and i swear i'll drop kick you thru the glass door behind you"... this really threw him off cause he had no intention of hitting me. chis and i talked about it when our mutual friend was put in the hospital by her husband. I told him "i know you can snap my neck and kill me, so if you ever hit me, you better kill me. If not, i will get you--- whether ur in the shower, sleeping, or taking a shit... I'll get you with your own weapon" I meant it too
