Could you imagine living in the same house (even if it's a nice one) all your life?

Maybe a trailer. IDK if I would want to be tied down to one place all my life.

Well I have so far. The last 3 generations have lived in this house, it's our own family homestead.

No I can't. Part of being my own man is picking out my own home and letting it be part of my own identity. I couldn't live in the "family home" all my life. I need my own thing.

My friend did that until recently. She lived in the same house from birth to age 52. From infant to grownup. Last year she had to sell it or be foreclosed on.

I can't imagine being the age I am now and never have lived anywhere but one house. I have lived in such vastly different places so that is definitely part of who I am. I would be much different had I been in any one of those places.

I know there are some people who live with family, and in the family home, all their lives; but I could never. As an adult it was important for me to carve out my own niche in life and create my own way, and choosing a home of my own was part of that.

Technically the answer is no because at some point I wanted to get out of my parent's house but beyond that, I don't need to move just for the sake of moving. If I found the perfect place (and it stayed that way), I could see staying. To date, I've lived in 6 domiciles that I can think of.

The homes that I've lived in have been for extended periods of time, so I wouldn't move unless it was for the better.

My house that was destroyed last year I had lived in since i was 10--- that meant 27 yrs. Did i decorate it to be my own? yes. But my bro and i have been looking for new homes, and nothing compares to what we had. The trees in the front of my house were planted by my grandparents in the 60s... so leaving that home is very emotional for me. When i look around it, i can see my dead sister laughing at parties, playing with toys at christmas, and sing karaoke with the kids. The house being destroyed actually took a part of her away from me. I wish the damn EPA would just let me rebuild it back to the way it was.
