The word going around here is because we've hardly gotten any rain for so long, if it doesn't rain within the next week, the 4th of July could be cancelled. Now, I haven't figured out yet what exactly this means, if it just means no firework displays and no firework stands to buy from, which would not be TOO big of a deal for me because I've got $70 worth of fireworks saved from last year, or if it also means anybody caught using fireworks would be arrested because of the known fire hazard...if that's the case at least we ain't got any flying diamonds so most of any damage would be limited to just our yard.
So we're all praying for rain between now and Tuesday, but I read that Colorado is in its FOURTH cancelled year because of the fires going on, so as glad as I always am that we don't live there because they get so much snow every year, I'm really glad we're not there now either, but I feel sorry for the people there. But I am hoping the fireworks remain a-go for us next week. Hard to believe it's already almost the 4th of July.
