    Most of the time. I have a good idea of what my trade-in is worth and that just becomes part of the dance with the salesman.

    yes. but the last one wanted too little, so i figured it was better to give the car to my sister than lose $5000 on the trade in. Re-selling to a private party really ups the price, but who wants to go thru the hassle?
