Re: Great grandparents
Yes. My grandmother's dad and my great grandmother, my granddad's mother. She died not too long ago.
I would tend to think a lot of people spend many years with their great grandparents. My grandmother is a great great grandmother.

If I did, I do not remember it.
(And, I'm just one broken condom away from being a great-grampa)

Re: Great grandparents
No. I was born to slightly older parents, so just knowing my grandparents happened on borrowed time. My great grandparents were long gone before me.

Re: Great grandparents
They were all dead before I was born. My grandmothers parents had died shortly before. Grandfather's father died when my grandfather was 7, his mother long before I was born. On my mothers side her father died before she was born in the middle of the first world war, her mother died when my mother was 6 months old, in the flu epidemic that was world wide at the wars end. Their parents if they still lived were lost to my mother when she was brought to the US after the first world war at the age of 3 by her step father. He thought about leaving her with her grandparents but he had made a promise and he would keep it and spoil my mother outrageously.

Re: Great grandparents
Yep. My great-grandmother (father's grandmother) passed 3 years ago and if it wasn't for that damn pneumonia, she would've still been here. Her husband passed 10 yrs prior to that and even though I was 16 when he died, I knew him, but I didn't know him. He got Alzheimer's when I was like a year old, so I never knew him sane. My mother's grandmother passed when I was 3. Don't remember her.

Re: Great grandparents
Nope. My maternal great grandmother died a few weeks before I was born, and I'm slightly named after her. My maternal great grandfather, who knows?! He was probably long gone before my time. My paternal great grandmother died when I was about six years old, but she didn't live in the same state, and I never met her.

Re: Great grandparents
Yes, I've met and interacted with my grandmother's parents often growing up, but never my grandfather's. My grandmother's parents have both passed within the past 10 years. My older nieces and nephews have also been able to meet their great-great grandparents as well.
In fact we have a picture of my niece, her mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother taken at a family function.
