Yes and no. I'm the go-to person on the off shifts ,whenever there's a problem, and all the difficult work ups usually get left for me in blood bank, but I also think the present management sees us all as expendable assets. I'm secure right now because they'd be screwed without me on second shift, but I also don't envision myself staying there until I retire, whether I leave on my own or they decide they don't like the fact that I'll only ass-kiss 80% of the time and not 100%, and work on pushing me out, so they can get in people who will be a bunch of yes-men.

I've been doing the same basic office tasks for a dozen years, so you might say I excel at it. I have some knowledge of what is expected by the surveyors when they come each year and I input on much of the written reporting.
However, job security is a myth. The new executive director wanted me to leave and cut my pay drastically hoping I would.

I pretty much excel at my job. As far as job security there is no such thing anymore.

I do it well, yes. My job is pretty secure right now, but I know this isn't going to be my career. I want to leave within the next two years.
