Today my little niece is 20 years old, my God I remember when she was a baby and brought to our house for the first time. And now she's in the military corps in college, unbelievable.

My oldest niece turned 17 this year, and will be graduating high school in June. I feel the same way.

You Feel Old?
Wait till you hold a new grandson
Then go to his wedding
Or become a great-grampa like I will the end of this month.

I was sitting folding my baby's diapers when the announcement of JFK's assassination was on the TV and had been married 7 years at that time. You folks don't know what old is yet!CeCe wrote:Honey I remember the day John Lennon was murdered.

Re: I feel so old
Yeah, the JFK assassination was the first of those moments we always remember exactly where we were when we heard the news, like 9-11-01. I was stationed in Texas and watched Air Force One leave Kelly AFB before going to Dallas. Shortly after we were on Red Alert and confined to base.Suzi wrote:I was sitting folding my baby's diapers when the announcement of JFK's assassination was on the TV and had been married 7 years at that time. Re: I feel so old
I also remember Alan Shepards first space flight.
that was May 5, 1961, our 3 child was 3 months old.
Oh yes and before that I liked Ike well enough to vote for him in the high school mock elections. And voted for Nixon in the first election I was old enough for.He lost.
Alan Shepard was the first American in space. He was one of NASA's first seven astronauts.

OMG! I voted for Nixon in the first election I could vote (had to be 21) and he won. Musta been 1968. I knew nothing about him other than he was VP. Who the hell was this Hubert Humphrey? So, name recognition was the only reason I voted for the crook.
I also remember that first brief space flight of Shepard in a Mercury space capsule, made at McDonnel Aircraft in St. Louis where my dad worked. We listened to it on the speakers in our classrooms (No TV, No Internet live feed - just PA speakers on the wall - that was the technology of the day).
BTW, where's that kid who started this thread?
