Silver Linings Playbook
Movie Blurb by Shale

This movie came out last Friday so I got to use my free pass to see it. Somehow a romantic comedy built around two crazy ppl just intrigues me. Turns out it was really a good movie, t...ho a little disturbing in parts watching Pat (Bradley Cooper) one of the crazy ppl doing out-of-control stuff.
The movie opens as Pat's mother (Jacki Weaver) is coming to get him released from a psych facility after he had a breakdown with violence that had his wife get a restraining order against him. His mother and father (Robert De Niro) have to endure his tirades at the wee hours of the morning, throwing books thru glass windows and obsessing over his wife (with repeated warnings from everyone to stay away from her or he goes back to the institution).
So one of his buds invites him to dinner at his house where he knows bud's wife does not like him. But there he meets her sister, Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) who has mental problems of her own and they get into a comparison of their various psychotropic meds.
This is the tone of the movie - a love/hate relationship where each of them are actually giving support to the other thru confrontation. You love seeing that kind of honest, upfront, raw, unrestrained emotion, sometimes on the edge of violence. Of course you know where this rom-com is going - that our two sparing partners will get totally involved with each other. I really enjoyed this movie - Cooper and Lawrence are convincing in their roles.
