Christmas, only because I can still rest for a few more days afterwards. Not feeling the 31st only because I have to go BACK to work on that day! I really don't know what the hell they were thinking.... 
And what makes it worse is the 30th is my BIRTHDAY!

Ever since I was about 20, NYE has been the more preferrable of the two.

Neither. Xmas was just a religious occurence that has turned into a mass marketing support for the economy - sorta disgraceful IMO. (If I were Christian I would oppose that like Jesus chasing the money-changers out of Temple)
New Year's Eve I stay in and hope no stray bullet makes it into my apt. This week starts the public announcements from the police chiefs & mayors telling all these fools and asswipes who missed a premise of Newtonian Physics from the 18th Century not to shoot their guns into the air. Oh, maybe add that to the gun control thread. Have to pass an IQ test or grade school science test before being able to buy assault weapons.

NYE--I'm working, getting paid time and a half, but I'll also be inundated with drug screens, and alcohol levels on the New Year's revelers, and pregnancy tests from people screwing their brains out at Christmas. Makes for an interesting night each year.
