A father-of-four who owes $100,000 in child support has been ordered by a judge to stop having children, it was revealed today.

Asim Taylor, 35, from Elyria, Ohio, was sentenced to an additional five years' probation last Wednesday after failing to pay child support for his four children.

If Taylor has another child in this time he could go to jail for one year.

He was originally indicted in August 2011, accused of owing $78,922 to the mothers of his four children.

He pleaded guilty, and now owes more than $96,000 in child support payments.

Judge James Walther told the defendant at his sentencing, according to the Lorain county Chronicle-Telegram: 'I put this condition on for one reason and one reason alone. It’s your personal responsibility to pay for these kids.'

The 35-year-old's lawyer wants to appeal the case, saying it violates his basic rights, including privacy, his right to procreate and engage in sexual intercourse.

Doug Merril said: 'It’s not a question whether or not if he wants to have more kids. It’s a question of whether or not the government should be telling somebody that they can or they can’t.

'I’ve heard from at least one of the mothers that he does do what he can to help support the child.'

He added that the only way Asim can guarantee compliance with the order is if he abstains from sex

'The court is now stepping into his bedroom,' Merrill said.

The judge said if Taylor 'can prove to the Court that he is able to provide support for his children he already has and is in fact supporting the children or until a change in conditions warrant,' he would lift the ban on Taylor having more kids.

Taylor said little during the hearing, according to The Chronicle Telegram but afterward he insisted that he wasn’t a bad parent.

'I take care of my children,' he said. 'I just don’t pay them through child support.'

Merrill said he worries that if Taylor does get someone pregnant, she might feel pressured to have an abortion.

I don't even know how to reply to this one...............unreal.

I would find this problematic if not for this line:

This sort of thing shouldn't become a regular ruling for men who're delinquent on their support payments, but in this guys case it's not a bad idea.

Well, they are violating his basic rights so on strength of that....I don't agree with the judges decision. However, I definitely understand it but the judge needs to realize that it takes two to tango. These dumb bitches need to take some responsibility as well. No way would I procreate with a total loser like this guy.

Nope. Sorry. The judge just gave this slug a chance to stay out of jail. He didn't order him to be sterilized, just to stop making babies that he can't support. Wear 3 rubbers. He was given the chance to stay out of jail so he could fulfill his obligation to his children. There can't be any conditions? Men go to jail all the time for not paying child support. This guy caught a break.

Coincidentally, Red, there is a case on the books in Wisconsin where the state Supreme Court upheld lower court's condition of probation that a "dead beat" dad not father more children. One of these cases could make it to the U.S. Supreme Court one of these days.

Thanks for the info, Al. I will have to look it up. If I read or heard of it, it has escaped me. But interesting as this is one state that is seemingly aggressive in child support.

im with al and red... it is easy for men to have their fun then disappear. im sure the women didnt know what a slug he is
