My 2 year old nephew is coming to visit today and he is an absolute terror! He receives no discipline from his parents other than the "no" here and there. He is constantly up his mother's butt whining and wanting and demanding and they give in to him all the time. He is so wound up with energy and yet they give him Gatorade, Coca Cola and other drinks with caffeine in them, just what he needs. He is destructive, touches everything and anything in sight so now I have to go around the house and make sure that things are in high places where he can't reach. Last visit he went through my DVD collection and took them all out of the cases and threw them everywhere. I was mad that his parents did not discipline him just a "no no no", I would have at least given him a smack on the butt or hands just to say that what you are doing is wrong. I love him to death though Smile

While I'm not necessarily in favor of "smacking the shit" out of kids because they misbehave I'm all for going up side the head of mom and dad because they don't even try to make their little contribution to posterity behave like a human being. Tony, I don’t know what your family dynamics are but did you ever take mom and dad aside and tell them that if they can’t control Junior, Uncle Tony will be happy to lend a hand? I have a niece (not by blood) who never did what your nephew did (around me) but could be a snotty little bitch. Everyone else let it slide but if she pulled that attitude with me I let her know that Uncle Alan don’t play dat. Remember. It takes a village.
