| Anybody notice how odd it is, it seems younger people are always asking that question or one similar to it: why would anybody want to live to be 100? Who would want to live that long?
But on the other hand, you NEVER hear of somebody who has actually made it that far asking those kinds of questions. It seems to them every minute they have is just as precious at 100 as it was when they were younger. You NEVER hear of people living that long only to ask what's the point in it, only younger ones.

| I'd love to make it to 100, absolutely, and if I died the next day then I couldn't complain. | |

| Some people think it's cute to be cynical is all. Everyone wants to be blessed and making a century is a blessing. | |

| I'd love to make it to that age, but I don't anticipate it. | |

| If I could live to be 100 I would hope that I would still maintain some sense of independence rather than have to depend on other people just to help me eat my dinner. | |

| Being a 100 years old would be great if you still had yer act together. At almost 65 I'm realizing theres a lot of power in gettin old. You can get by with sayin a whole lot more cause you've got a lot of experience. Theres also the thing of not really having to worry if I'm gonna accomplish what I want cause I've done a bunch of it already. Less pressure and more fun. The post about ever gonna grow up...whats that mean? I had a sense of fun and adventure as a kid and never lost it. Took time out to do some important things like raise my sons and develop a good profession but never lost sight of playing. Hell yeah 100, and stirring up all kinds of stuff along the way. Will I make it??? who cares? the trips the thing, arriving is the end until something new comes along. | |

I was remembering a show I watched as a kid where this dad played an April Fool's joke on his kids and terrorized the hell out of them, the mom came in and said 'are you EVER going to grow up?' because he seemed to make a habit out of playing jokes on people and he said 'I hope not'. And for some reason that whole line's just stuck with me over the years, and I tend to ask it myself sometimes, and give the same answer.

| So long as I have good health care and am in control of most of my faculties, I wouldn't mind George Burning it to 100. | |

| Hard question to answer. If I can have strong social security protection, a home and someone always there to take care of me, then yes. But I'd rather not be in my 90s, living in some run down nursing home, having outlived most of my family and waiting to die. | |
