How often did you parents say "I Love You" to you when you were growing up, and to this day? My parents hardly ever said it. They showed it, so there was never a question, but the words didn't come out as often as they should have. That's why whenever my daughter is with me, I make sure I say it before she returns to her mother.

Not much. Dad says it now and so do I ending a phone call, but I don't enjoy hearing it or saying it to him. It is just awkward. But he started doing it after Mom died.

As a kid, at least once every day.

Mom doesn't say it, but Dad says it every single time I finish talking to him. Been doing that ever since my folks split up. Every time we finish speaking on the phone or when we're about to not see each for a while, he says "I love you".

My mom says it on a semi-regular basis, but my dad almost never says it. At times growing up I didnt think he loved me and sometimes I still think that is the case. He remarried and had a bunch of kids with his wife and he appears more "fatherly" to them, but he never did anything special with me. That I'm gay and he can be somewhat old school in his traditional beliefs just taints it even more. But at least I have my mom.

A lot as a kid. Not so much now because well I'm grown up and out of the house. My parents were hippie types who were all about love, so they constantly said it.
