No, I wouldn't go to the extreme of having something implanted. Because if I ever don't trust him that much, his butt will be at home anyway.

What if it malfunctions? Kids don't need those things, just watch them. Teach them about "Stranger Danger". Make sure they know how to use the phone and the #. Stay on them about not wandering off in crowds.

Hell no, and in my opinion, any idiot who believes these things are sooo good and soooo helpful to kids OR adults, are the same morons who believe Big Brother is your friend and the government always only has your best interest in mind. Factor in all the people who should not know where you are at all times, abusive husbands, pedophiles, if you're in Witness Relocation, they could find out about that then, what're you going to do? Take the old one out and have a new one put in? The cons outweigh the pros immensely on this issue.

Seriously, these things are NUTS! They expose you to all kinds of unwanted privacy issues, possible health issues, not to mention it's useless if somebody knows how to take it out.(And since many child abductions are done by people the child knows, this isn't all that far a stretch) There aren't really any good benefits to it. It sounds more like more Big Brother to me and that's never something we need.
