Way beyond your usual Hollywood survival movie, plus much more.
We as the audience is living along with Aron Ralston (James Franco) who during a hiking trip falls into a Utah canyon , as he finds himself pinned under a large unmovable boulder. Over the next 5 days (127 Hours) we wait with hope, as we watch Aron desperately trying to free himself. A man of extreme pride and arrogance who preferred testing nature, with no thought of telling anyone where he,s going, or even carrying a cell phone.
The most hair-raising film of this year, with a performance from James Franco that will raise him to a star prominence level, and without a doubt an Oscar nomination. A film that leaves you gasping for breath, as the camera and sound makes you feel like you're inside Aron's head. Beautifully directed by Danny Boyle, who you may recall from "Slumdog Millionaire"
A+
Jack
Footnote spoiler: There's been lots of talk about the scene where Aron finally realizes if he's to survive he must take drastic measures, and removes part of his right arm. It may be hard for some to watch, but it's over quickly, and you will cry and smile as the credits roll by...
