I say no since it's all gonna come back out of your income tax anyway. But I heard some say that the whole thing should be treated more like a bank loan.

Nope. Esp not unemployment. Unemployment is your damn money anyway. As far as welfare, if you ever hit the lottery, you'd definitely be paying that back. But I don't think they should make that a loan per se because the typical people who are on welfare aren't the type who pays back anything. It should only be used when you need it.

Like Ny said, it's your own money. It comes out of your income tax. So many people think welfare and unemployment is just 'free money.' You pay into unemployment and welfare out of every paycheck you get before you even receive any benefits from it.
