| Would you be in favor of over the counter diet pills being banned, or at the very least television commercials advertising them? | |

| Unless they're proven to cause significant health problems....people can hock whatever they want. I think at the very least the companies who sell them should be required to have a disclaimer and make people aware that they really don't work. Esp not in the long term. | |

| If they'd be banned, that would be alright with me, especially their stupid advertisements. | |

| I guess it depends on the effect they have on a person's health. If taken responsibly, do they pose a harm to your health or not? If they don't, I see no reason to pull them from the shelves, but if they do, then I don't think they should be sold. I do think there should be more of an emphasis on the side effects and what would happen if they were misused.
For me personally, I've never been interested in taking a diet pill to lose weightl I did it the old-fashioned way- by controlling my portions and getting more exercise. A pill may work for a while, but it's not going to keep the weight off you for long because only a lifestyle change will be effective at losing and maintaining your weight.

| For false advertising, they should be banned. They don't work! | |

| I had a friend who was on a serious diet. He was eating like a bird, going to the gym every day and in the meantime he was also taking Zantrex 3. He was losing like 5 lbs. a week and was convinced that the diet pills were significantly helping with that. One day his bottle ran out and he didn't have enough money to buy another, so that week he kept on with his routine minus the pills. Guess what? He lost another 5 lbs. Those pills did nothing, yet it boast itself to be the #1 diet pill in America. | |

| They should just add all the side effects and effectiveness of them into the commercials like they do for drugs. | |

No, not at all. This is America and any product at all (unless they're dangerous, which most diet pills are not) should be able to be advertised and promoted like anything else. | |
