| It's no wonder that kids (well when WE were kids anyway) aren't fat because I think we did everything imaginable, I certainly did anyway: I played baseball, football, badminton, racquet ball, basketball, jumped rope, roller skated, we had a swing set/jungle gym and I walked on the monkey bars all the time and on one set (we went through 3 swingsets during childhood) we had the gym rings and a trapeze, and we rode our bikes and we just ran all over the yard doing everything we could think of, in the summer we went swimming, in winter we went sledding. Then what happens? You grow up and for a lot of people it's 'I'm too busy, too tired, etc' and I've done more than my fair share of that as well as I'm sure a lot of people do. But what do you do for exercise now as an adult?
There was a period where I got very lazy about it, some things I just never quit though, and now, I'm still swimming every single summer, still play badminton, baseball, also horseshoes and bocce ball now, my bike doesn't see much use anymore but for the winter I got an old stationary one, and I recently read that 10 minutes of jumping rope is healthwise to the body equivilant to running an 8 minute mile, so I do that too. How about everyone else?

| At the gym, I do the elliptical equipment and some of the weight machines. I love Zumba. I play basketball, tennis, bike and walk.

| http://www.amazon.com/Precor-Commercial-Elliptical-Fitness-Crosstrainer/dp/B0029KOD66This is one kind our gym has. They also have those with bars for pushing and pulling with arms too, so arms are not stationary during the work out. I really like them because they are a good work out for me. When I began working out in Oct. 2009, initially my out of shape butt could only stand about ten minutes on a moderate level. Now, I can do an hour, no problem. | |

| I really miss the elliptical machine but a gym membership isn't practical for me right now...I am doing the 30 Day Shred right now which is a really intense 20 min work out with cardio/weights/abs. Plus I try to work in activity to my day, putting one of the twins in the backpack while I shop, doing squats and calf raises while folding laundry. A little bit of yoga when I have a minute or two free. Jumping on the trampoline with the big kids, dancing with the little kids. I'm pretty active...My problem is I love sweets I could eat a whole pan of brownies or 6 donuts in 24 hours. | |

| I used to do early morning and evening aerobics classes at my gym, but have since stopped. I might look into that again, I just got too lazy to keep on going. | |

| For the past couple of years it's been picking up the coffee cup with my left hand & moving the mouse with my right. But that's a about to change. I've scheduled dates with the elliptical & bowflex. | |

| I do Tae Bo and the treadmill. I don't like many sports for fun, except for swimming. | |

| Mandy, is Tae Bo a good workout? I always wondered that. | |

| Hard to say. I guess if you do it long enough it is, we got the Tae-Bo tapes long time ago when it was a new thing, and we still have the 4th and last volume of that installment, but it's been a while since I've done that. | |

| I am 100% awful at exercising inside the confines of the house. I could live in luxe and have a work out room, and it would never be the as going to the Y or going to the courts or walking. I DO NOT like working out at home. | |

Me too. I bet if I had a state of the art home gym, I wouldn't use it. There's something about going out and doing it around other people, if only just to make use of the gas it took to drive there.
