Why do so many people dislike Oprah?

I'm not just talking about her show, I mean there are a lot of people who act like she's annoying, evil or fake. Personally I don't see it. I love me some O.

I'm not crazy obsessed w / her but I'll probably miss her show. Dont hate her.

Cause everything about her ass is fake and for show.

I don't hate her I was just never really into her show.

I don't dislike her, and catch her show on a semi-regular basis…but she is guilty of painting her grandeur on a tad thick. She is too much of an idealist and believes her own hype.

I don't have much of an opinion of her for good or ill. She is just another celebrity as far as I'm concerned.

Some people think she is the anti-christ, because she has so much power (the Oprah effect) and she is not exactly Christian but sort of claims to be...That kind of generic spirituality from someone who believes that the Bible is to be interpreted literally can seem like it's Satan worship.

At least, at my old church that's what the women were always talking about...

I have to say I have a pretty strong dislike for Oprah, can't say I truly hate her though. I think the reason why myself and so many people are sick of her is that she's always doing something, she's always in the public eye. It's annoying. I mean, am I only the one who doesn't give a shit that this is her last season on TV?

. Back in the day, I couldn't stand Oprah. Partly because my mom would watch her every damn day after school when I came home and since we had only one good t.v. in the house (in the living room) I couldn't watch Tale Spin. The reason I don't dislike her as much now is because as much as she likes to toot her own horn, I do see that she actually does use her money to do good for people. At least she tries. I can definitely do without the show however. Unless she has someone on there I'm remotely interested in seeing, I have no qualms skipping it. I don't like the way she baits the guests on her show either.

ITA with this. I don't dislike her, either, but I'm not a huge fan of hers, either. I find that sometimes she can be really annoying, like when she's interviewing someone. Some of her questions can be really rude. I remember when she was interviewing that little boy who'd been kidnapped at 11 and found when he was 14 and she said to him something like "Shawn - America wants to know what happened to you during that time". I remember being really annoying and thinking how rude of her to speak for America. I went on the boy's website and SO many people were commenting on what she said and telling him she was wrong - that many of us respected his privacy and didn't feel the need to know the details of his sexual abuse. Things like that really bother me, and she does it often. I also find she can be really repetitive and will make comments that pump herself up - repeatedly say that 'it's only on her show" that they're getting a certain reveal or "this is the first time it's ever happened", and so on. It's one thing to say it at the intro, but I don't need ti repeated after every single commercial break.
