I'll admit that Dallas was a little before my time; I was alive, but very young (my mom watched Knots Landing.)

Another iconic series is being rebooted; this time it's Dallas. Has anyone else heard about this? The latest news is that Jesse Metcalfe is joining the cast.

I remember Dallas. I even remember the infamous "who shot J.R." episode. My folks were huge fans of Dallas.

I wonder if this being a show produced for TNT, opposed to a major broadcast network, will hurt it or help it.

We were a KNOTS LANDING house too. I remember watching with my mom the Jill storyline, where she goes crazy on Val.

Larry Hagman said on a talk show that he loved when people hissed at him in public because he was such a great villain. At least it's not going to be a remake. That would suck.

Eh, never watched the original, so I highly doubt I'll be watching this. Actually, I won't be.

When I first heard they were rebooting it I was skeptical but it sounds more and more interesting as the developments fall in place. I was only a casual viewer of the original series but I may check out a few episodes of the revamp when it airs.

Dallas premieres tonight on TNT. I'm probably going to be out, but I set my DVR to record it to see if it'll be worth watching.

I read that this season is just Bobby Ewing dreaming about the future.

It was actually not bad. Enjoyed seeing some familiar faces. Watched both eps & time went by pretty fast. Interested in seeing what happens next.

You need a program and a scorecard to keep track of who's screwing who over.

I have read some good things about it today. I may try to see if the episodes are online. I watched Dallas with Mom, but of course, it was so many years ago, I recall very little.

well... went i went to DVR it a few weeks ago, Comcast OnDemand was playing the old one... they are playing a few epis from each season. I watched them all.. then HAD to go get the seasons to know all the details. I am almost up to season 6... so if you have any questions about the back story, just ask!
And I highly recommend viewing the old series!

Dallas' Is A Big Hit
Twenty-one years after it went off the air, a revamped "Dallas" returned to primetime on top of the ratings.
The TNT drama scored the number-one scripted series premiere on cable television this year on Wednesday night after 7 million viewers tuned in to catch up on the oil drilling Ewing family.
TNT brought back the original cast along with a new generation of actors playing the Ewing kids, including Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman, as well as newcomers Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Brenda Strong and Jordana Brewster.
Gray returns as Sue Ellen Ewing, JR's ex-wife and the mother of their son John Ross (Henderson). But things are different. Gray explained, "It was with whole new Sue Ellen because she’d been gone for 20 years. She had taken John Ross with her to London with Ian McShane, smart. So, I had to do a lot of homework for Sue Ellen.
"I had to really find out where would she be? Who would she be with? What are her values now? Why did she change? Is it solid change, or is it just surface change? Where would she be and what would she be doing with her new life?"
"Dallas" airs Wednesday nights at 9/8 central.

I saw the first two episodes with my mom the other night, and I think something you do have to wonder is WHY would anybody want to live like the Ewings? Everybody spends every waking minute cheating and screwing over every other member of that family, it reminds me of Howard Hughes' family.
