Paula Abdul will soon be joining the ranks of the unemployed, once again. An official announcement has yet to be made but a source close to the situation tells [URL=http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2011/02/exclusive-paula-abdul-devastated-after-being-told-show-cancelled]RadarOnline.com[/COLOR] exclusively that Paula has been told that her reality show, Live To Dance will not be renewed for a second season – and the host is “devastated” by the news.

The 48-year-old spent the weekend in mourning at her California home after being told of CBS’ decision by phone on Friday. Despite a relatively strong start, Live To Dance, which garnered mixed reviews, struggled to maintain ratings, and ultimately network brass decided it wasn’t worth investing in a second season of the talent show.

“Paula kept hoping week after week that her show would pick up new viewers,” the source told RadarOnline.com. “But each week the ratings trailed off. It ended with only a little more than 4 million viewers watching the final… way too few for CBS to keep Paula’s dream dance show alive. “Paula loved that show and she hoped CBS would give it at least one more season to win viewers. But they were just not willing to take that risk,” the source said.

“She spent the weekend at her home, surrounded by friends, rehashing CBS’s devastating decision and wondering what she would do next.
“Although there’s been talk she may be asked to join Simon Cowell’s new X Factor show this fall, she’s not been asked. And because of the way she treated Simon when she left Idol… demanding more money than they were willing to pay… she fears her diva attitude back then will cause her to lose out on an X Factor invitation.

“Now all she can do is sit tight and wait to see if her phone rings, and if it does, hope it will be Simon on the other end.”

Maybe Simon will give her a job?

She was a fool for leaving American Idol for that ill-fated little dancing competition show. I may have saw one commercial for it, but never even tried to watch it.

^^^^ Is that what she really left Idol for? I thought it was a contract dispute or something. I haven't seen any commercials for it. LOL, dumb broad. AI put her totally forgotten about ass back in the spotlight............now that it got her a little bit of noriety, she decides to get too big for her britches and leave to start her own bullshit? Like it really will become as popular? Esp since she was seen as the softee on AI. LOL.

I don't really have any sympathy for her. She got a lot farther than a lot of other talentless people do.

Who couldn't see this shows cancellation coming from the day they announced it? There are enough talent competition reality shows on TV today and Paula isn't a strong enough personality to be the STAR of one. She was about 10 seconds away from being a "Hey, remember/whatever-happened-to her?" (ala Karyn White and Pebbles)....by the stroke of luck she managed to land a gig on TV's #1 show, then she leaves to try and pilot her own gimmick. I imagine her people are in a tailspin right trying to figure out how to convince FOX to drop JLo so that she can return.

I hear she is more than likely going to be a Judge on Simon's show X-Factor when it comes on in the fall.

I don't fault her for trying something new. It didn't work out, but it is what it is. If she is a judge on Simon's new show, I wonder if that would work. I could see her addition to the show making people bill the show as an AI wanna be, as if it isn't already?

I can imagine her being a judge on X-Factor when it starts up. I think she was kind of pushing her luck by being the lead judge on a reality show. I wonder if she'll possibly have some kind of breakdown if she doesn't get to work on Simon's show.
