Another reason why its cheaper in NJ is that we have so many refineries. There is some kind of pipeline that actually comes up the coast---- my friend worked for sunoco and told me this. Once the oil gets here thru the pipeline, the jersey refineries turn it inot gasoline. Then the distribution is cheap... trucks taking it to NJ are cheaper than transporting it to other states. when I went to alaska, I noticed that gas was over $1 more than what we pay here--- and thought this odd since they have the pipeline. Then I was informed that their oil cannot be refined into gasoline, just deisel and home heating fuels. So alaska must transport gasoline IN! crazy
Here, we have 5 refineries that I know of... and a couple across the bridge in philly. I just got gas... $3.32 for reg $3.48 for premium.
