Supposedly its going down at least .50 within the next two weeks.

Because there is no such thing as 'self-service' in Jersey. Wish they had that in NY.

Because there is no such thing as 'self-service' in Jersey. Wish they had that in NY. They don't lower the price for self-service. They raise the price for full-service. That's like the discount for cash billshit if you don't use a credit or debit card. It's not a discount. They raised the price for plastic. As of 1/11, between the excise tax and "other taxes and fees", NY charges an extra 47.3¢ per gallon. 2nd highest in the country. NJ is 14.5¢. 2nd lowest.

I noticed a slight drop in prices too from the weekend. Hopefully it continues, because these past few weeks has been ridiculous. It costs about $45 to fill up my tank now. I'm scared to go anywhere.

| Another reason why its cheaper in NJ is that we have so many refineries. There is some kind of pipeline that actually comes up the coast---- my friend worked for sunoco and told me this. Once the oil gets here thru the pipeline, the jersey refineries turn it inot gasoline. Then the distribution is cheap... trucks taking it to NJ are cheaper than transporting it to other states. when I went to alaska, I noticed that gas was over $1 more than what we pay here--- and thought this odd since they have the pipeline. Then I was informed that their oil cannot be refined into gasoline, just deisel and home heating fuels. So alaska must transport gasoline IN! crazy
Here, we have 5 refineries that I know of... and a couple across the bridge in philly. I just got gas... $3.32 for reg $3.48 for premium.

The refineries may help but we also have the 48th lowest state tax on gas. It's 14.5¢/gal. I think Wyoming beats us by a half penny and Alaska is 8¢/gal. I think NY is 49¢/gal. Congrats, you guys are #1. We get fucked in many other ways though

| Anybody got a bus schedule? I'm on the verge of taking public transportation at least once a week. It's craaaaaayyyy that $20 doesn't even get me 1/2 a tank. Back when I had my first car, $10 used to take me to F. | |
