In most states, the age that a kid can consent to sex with an adult is sixteen or seventeen. However, no one can legally buy porn or work in its industry until they are at least eighteen. Do you think that the laws in that regard should be adjusted to allow someone legal access to porn–as a customer or employee–based on that states laws regarding AOC; or should it remain at eighteen, regardless?

Now that you make me think about, Chris, I suppose the limitations you cite do seem contradictory. But as someone long past the age of consent I don't have a problem with maintaining them. I could be wrong (I frequently am) but I doubt too many state legislators are going to have the balls to ammend any of the present age restrictions. I can hear the TV campaign ads of their opponents now.

Actually, the conflict comes from two different laws.

The states can determine the age of sexual consent, but the federal law is 18 for sex fotos.

So, you can legally have sex with someone in some states at 16 but don't take a pic of it or the federal law against 'child' porn will get you busted.

And it is probably that same law that determines who can buy porn.
