What are your thoughts on censorship? Do you feel that things are not censored enough? Or do you feel that the government has censored too much and not allowed up our freedoms?

When we see what is available to the ppl in European nations - which don't always have a formal protection of the free press as we have in our constitution then we realize we are deluding ourselves.
We have always had censorship in this country - usually in the area of sexuality. Even the Kinsey research findings in the late '40s that exposed our sexual hypocrisy was attempted to be censored.
The argument was that the founding fathers did not mean pornography when they penned the first amendment but if you check out Jefferson, Washington and Franklin you will see some lusty men who did enjoy the porn of the day.
It is the prudish Puritan mindset that has differentiated us from our less censored European cultures, and we only enjoy the bit of freedom today due to the successful "pornographers" like Playboy who fought the government in court.

I think it's funny when politicians or wannabe politicians believe they can speak for the founding fathers. Even when they can't name any of them.
And I agree. Censorship has always existed. It's just a matter of to what degree.

Not a fan of government or organizations deciding what I get to see or hear.
