I am so happy. I was stationed in Korea when 9/11 happened. We went through some stressfull times. We had to keep our Soldiers always alert and the training got intense besides the fact that we had to provide 24/7 guard duty in our camp.

I still remember we had an early formation to inform our Soldiers of the situation and we had to go on 24/7 operations getting security instructions from higher headquarters.

I still remember it was about in the morning when one of my Platoon Sergeants knocked at my door and told me what just had happened. We ran to the room of another sergeant and just as we went in there were a few Soldiers already watching TV and right at that moment we saw the second plane hitting the next tower.
We were just in shock as the rest of the nation and the world. In our case many of us felt so frutrated being far away from home and our families. We had to huddle up and support each other.
I was a First Sergeant then and as the top enlisted in the unit I worked with the commander in making sure our young Soldiers stayed focus on their training and their resolve and morale.

Eventually things caught up with Bin Laden. Granted there may be retaliation but others will know that eventually they will hear from us one way or another.

We may be slow at times and at times it may look we are divided but as a nation we still have the resolve to take care of our own and letting nations of the world we are not a pushover as they may thing and/or wish we are.

I am feeling good about it. It may not change daily life, but it feels better to have the world without him in it. As for retaliation, they have been plotting things for over a decade, and we have dodged it. We have some good people working against it.

As for another terrorist taking Bin Laden's place, that kind of evil doesn't come around every day.

The bottom line is, we should live our lives and hope for the best. What else can we do?

Unfortunately, I think it's already been around.

I'm glad he's dead, but that doesn't mean terrorism is dead.
