I guess it depends on how important the issue is to me and how badly I'm pissed off about it. If it's just a minor one-time thing, I may keep my mouth shut but I've been known to speak with the owner or contact the corporate office, etc. That's out in the world. Pretty much the same thing at home.

I complain at work daily since the new guard has taken over, and micromanages without knowing exactly what we do.
I have a bunch of coworkers from the old Soviet Union who try to reign me in but I tell them it is an American tradition to complain and raise hell. Teaching the axiom that it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil ...

Oh, I'm a big complainer. My mother tells me I complain way too much. It's my way of venting. But once I get it out of my system, then I'll deal with the situation.
